According to China Press, the stall owner surnamed Lim only started the business in April and his customers are loving it! Despite the unbeatable price, Lim can still maintain the quality and portion of the food.

The 60-year-old hawker said his intention of coming up with such a plan is to allow bak kut teh lovers to enjoy the dish at a much cheaper price while saving them a few bucks. Also, he understands the struggle that working class people are going through right now as he himself came from a poor family.

The business is so good that the bak kut teh dish is usually sold out by noon. Admittedly, not everyone is happy with the wallet-friendly price, because Lim revealed that his pricing has affected the market and his competitors, but he reckoned there is still money to be made from the RM5 bak kut teh. How we wish every hawker thinks like you.
