What were you doing when you were 14 years old? Playing video games? Studying for your exams? Well, I remember trading songs with my friends over Bluetooth, before we had Spotify. So, yeah, not exactly the most interesting time in most of our lives.
But for one 14-year-old girl, what she does on the daily (asides from school of course), is anything but boring, according to this article by KK News! Helping her parents run a food stall at a night, this talented young soul has become the talk of the town with her impressive ‘dai chow’ skills. Just look at this!
Watch how she expertly handles the wok like it’s no big deal, and tosses the food in it over and over like a complete pro! At 14 years old, she may be small in stature, but she’s certainly not a messy chef.
Serving up fried morsels coated thickly in a delicious, sweet and salty salted egg yolk sauce, the father of this talented young girl had apparently been a ‘dai chow’ chef before starting his own food stall. By learning from him, she’s now more than capable of cooking just like her dad! In fact, she started cooking when she was in Standard 4!
Apparently her parents had wanted her to help out around the family business as they wanted her to learn about the value of money and hard work. Well, we can’t say that it’s a bad idea, especially given how the Facebook post that had featured this young chef has gone viral!
So what deliciously fried snacks can you get your hands on at their stall? Well, you can take your pick between salted-egg coated sotong, fried tofu, and many, many more. They’re pretty hard to miss too, given the many ‘Ultraman’ logos they use to brand their stall with. For those who don’t know, Ultraman’s Chinese nickname is ‘Ham Dan Qiu Yen’ aka The Salted-Egg Superhero.
If you want to know where they operate every day of the week, here’s a list of locations to help you out!
Monday: Serdang
Tuesday: Sri Petaling
Wednesday: Taman Connaught
Thursday: Taman OUG
Friday: Leisure Mall
Satuday: Setia Alam
Sunday: Kepong Baru
In any case, we have to say that we’re incredibly impressed with the young girl and her incredible cooking skills! Are any of you planning to catch her cooking up a storm in person? Let us know!
