With Chinese New Year just around the corner, many Malaysians are saddened by the implementation of the Movement Control Order (MCO) as they worry that this year’s celebrations will be dampened more than expected.
But the spirit of CNY is still strong, now more than ever with the release of the gorgeous Lunar New Year Barbie doll!
Barbie took to their official Facebook page to showcase their latest edition.
They wrote, “The first new moon of the lunar calendar marks the start of the fifteen days of family, fireworks and festivities for many Asian cultures across the world, ushering in good luck in the new year.”
“Dressed in a peony print red satin cheongsam to symbolise good fortune, Barbie is proud to honour the traditions of the Lunar New Year celebration with a signature doll inspired by the holiday.”
This gorgeous doll showcases that no matter how small celebrations may be due to the pandemic, the spirit and beliefs of the culture must always remain unbroken and strong.
