Fully vaccinated Malaysians are among travellers from 17 countries allowed to enter the United Kingdom (UK) without having to go through previously set conditions. The matter was stated on the official website of the UK government, which among other things contained flexibility for fully vaccinated individuals, including changes to the country’s international travel rules.

Beginning this October 4, international travel rules to England will change from the previously applicable red, orange, and green colour systems, to a single list classified in red. The guide states,

“It will maintain only one red list involving high-risk countries, while other countries will be moved to a single category. The approach to the arrival of visitors from other countries will also be summarized. However, travel regulations from countries and regions not included in the red list will depend on the vaccination status of visitors.”

The website also said that starting at 4 am on Oct 4, visitors from the expanded list of 17 countries who were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before arrival, do not need to take a pre-release PCR test or take a Covid-19 test on the eighth day. Furthermore, visitors also do not need to be quarantined at home or any location where they stay for 10 days after arrival.

Malaysia is among the countries on the list of 17 allowed countries. Other countries include Australia, Singapore, Brunei, New Zealand, South Korea and Taiwan. The guide also explained that those who receive a complete injection of Oxford/AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccines from their respective national health authorities are accepted. Any such vaccines mixture are also recognized.

Visitors, however, need to book and pay for the second day of the Covid-19 test which will be taken after arrival in addition to completing the tracking form. The website also states visitors must submit proof of their complete vaccination through documents, either digital or paper, from national health authorities or state-level bodies. Visitors who fail to submit proof that they have been fully vaccinated are required to follow the rules of unvaccinated individuals or face disqualification action if they fail to do so.
