Just yesterday, former Prime Minister Najib Razak was ordered to enter defence against ALL 25 corruption charges for his 1MDB trial. The High Court announced that all charges against Najib are VALID and not defective.

Najib’s daughter, Yana Najib, took to her Instagram stories and expressed what she felt about the verdict – unfair.

To Yana, the 1MDB case involves many people and organizations, but it seems like only his father is taking the fall.

“Only 1 person is taking the fall. This is not justice. The true mastermind remains at large, escaping accountability.”

She also explained that the 1MDB trial is tied to many global financial institutions, governance failures at every level, and complicity from both local and foreign agencies, which explains her heartbreak to see her father taking the blame all by himself.

Yana, however, could only watch as her father returned to prison.

“Rough morning. I’m so sorry, Daddy. Pains us to see you go through this.”

What does Najib’s attorney think about the verdict?

In a media conference yesterday (October 30) following Najib’s verdict, his lawyer, Mohd Shafee Abdullah, made it clear that he was disappointed with the progress of the case and in fact, Shafee said so far, this is the only case that he has not won.

“I respect the court’s decision, but we will not give up. We will still fight for justice for our client.”

Shafee also described this as a “rare if not the only case” in which “hearsay evidence” was accepted.

What do you think of the verdict?
