Taking to TikTok, this taxi driver expresses his disappointment that the authorities have failed to empower Act 333 of the Road Transport Act 1987, citing that these ‘kereta sapu’ or illegal e-hailing services are robbing those trying to earn an honest living.

In his video, he captured this Arabian driver picking up customers at Sunway Pyramid.

In the video, the man can be seen hurrying his passengers and loading baggage quickly into his vehicle because his crime was caught on camera.

“I apologise for spreading this video, but I can no longer hide my disappointment that the authorities did not exercise laws to stop this from happening.”

It is important to note that not long ago, an operation in Setapak and Wangsa Maju witnessed these illegal drivers without proper licenses using personal vehicles rented from other parties.

According to JPJ, the group that offers such services is active via WhatsApp, Telegram and other non-sanctioned e-hailing apps.

A majority of netizens commenting on the video wanted the authorities to take control of the situation.

“JPJ laws are not exclusively for Malaysians, but for all road users.”
