Dropped the wrong pin on a delivery app? By the time you realise it, the rider may already be at the wrong location!
While a mistake like this usually leads to frustration, a Malaysian Threads user, @masamiera, recently experienced top-tier service after accidentally mispinning a delivery location for her customer on for the first time in years.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, the user shared how the rider handled the situation with remarkable grace and patience.
Rider had to backtrack nearly 15km
The mix-up was only realised after the rider had already arrived at the initial pinned location.
After checking the delivery details, she realised that the location had been pinned incorrectly and contacted the rider to explain the situation.
Unfortunately, the correct address was almost 15km away, meaning the rider had to make a significant detour to complete the delivery.
Despite the unexpected extra distance, the rider did not complain or display any frustration towards the customer.
“When I called him, I immediately apologised profusely and asked if it was okay to send the new address,” the user recalled. “He calmly replied, ‘Yes, sure, no problem… just send me the address.’ His tone was completely calm, and he arrived at the correct location”
For the customer, the rider’s patience stood out, especially as the mistake meant he had to travel farther than originally expected.

Customer doubled the delivery fee as an extra tip
Recognising the significant extra effort and nearly 15km detour, the customer wanted to make sure the Grab rider was fairly compensated for his time and distance.
“I definitely gave him an extra tip. For the initial pin, I had already paid around RM20+. After he delivered the item, I paid him a similar amount again,” the user shared.
In other words, she effectively doubled what she had initially paid for the delivery as a gesture of appreciation.
She also gave the rider a 5-star “Perfect” rating on the app to recognise his service.
A simple reminder for delivery app users
The experience also prompted the user to remind fellow delivery app users to double-check the location pins before placing an order. After all, a small mistake on the customer’s end can sometimes mean a much longer journey for the rider.
However, if someone does accidentally enter the wrong address or pin, the user believes the least they can do is acknowledge the mistake and consider compensating the rider fairly for the additional time and distance involved.
“If anyone ever accidentally pins the wrong address, please apologise and compensate the rider fairly for their time and distance.”
Grateful for the stellar service, the user also wished him safety on the road and abundant blessings.
