Being a woman means different things to different people, but if there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that it’s definitely the best thing to be one!

In a recent update posted by @seasia.stats, they’ve recently announced the best countries for women within the Southeast Asia (2023/2024).

Our women are treated fairly and are safe!

Malaysia has yet again secured a spot for us on one of the ranking lists for the best countries for women, placing us in 3rd position with a score of 0.738. Following closely behind is Vietnam with a score of 0.707, placing them 4th.

Singapore has secured the 1st spot with a score of 0.887, followed by Thailand with a score of 0.764, leaving them in 2nd place.

In the post, @seasia.stats states that based on the findings from The Global Women’s Peace and Security Index (WPS Index), a trusted data source is used to evaluate how women are included, treated fairly, and kept secure in 170 countries.

“Norway has the highest ranking, while Afghanistan has the lowest. For Southeast Asia, Singapore has the first position ranking of 15th.”

Here are the complete rankings for the countries included in the study, along with their respective scores:

  • Singapore – 0.887
  • Thailand – 0.764
  • Malaysia – 0.738
  • Vietnam – 0.707
  • Laos – 0.704
  • Indonesia – 0.700
  • Timor – Leste – 0.664
  • Cambodia – 0.645
  • Philippines – 0.612
  • Myanmar – 0.451

It’s safe to say that Malaysian women are generally treated the best here! But of course, this extends beyond Malaysia to the rest of the Southeast Asian countries too! So, cheers to that!
