Hence is why it is great that our fellow Asians taking to foreign tourist mega-spots to showcase our culture!
Muhammad Al-Hafiz Hosni from Singapore recently took to his Instagram page to showcase how he made his Aidiladha celebrations so much more special as he danced the Zapin Gemersik Ombak in the middle of Times Square, New York!
He wrote, “Celebrating Aidiladha with Malay dance in Times Square because why not! Life is as festive as you make it! Shall we make Gemersik Ombak into a dance challenge?”
In the video, Muhammad Al-Hafiz can be seen dressed in a traditional Baju Melayu, while showcasing his mesmerizing Malay dance moves right next to the iconic Red Stairs in Times Square, with the huge New York billboards as his background.
Many passerbys took notice of Muhammad Al-Hafiz’s moves and watched in amazement, shining a well-deserved light on traditional Malay culture.
Netizens were so ecstatic and were not afraid to show it!
