SPM and STPM students have returned to school for their first day of physical classes today (20 January) but tragedy has already taken place at one of the schools.

According to Astro Awani, one of the students at SMK Petra Jaya, Kuching, Sarawak fell from the third floor of the school building and suffered injuries.

The incident is believed to have happened at about 6.30am when the student was near his classroom.

The 17-year-old from Kampung Tupong Batu was then rushed to Sarawak General Hospital in an ambulance and is reportedly in a stable condition.

Meanwhile, PDRM forensic personnel are now conducting an investigation at the location.

There has been a growing concern about SPM and STPM students returning to school for classes and examinations. In just one day, Syed Saddiq managed to gather over 1,000 responses from these students who expressed their worries and frustrations about going back to school.

He hopes that by giving the students a platform to have their voices heard, the government will make appropriate changes to keep students and their families safe.
