A 17-year-old student from a school in Johor is facing 63 charges of non-physical sexual assault on male students, including one count for possessing child pornography.
The SPM student pleaded not guilty to all the charges, and according to Berita Harian, he allegedly asked his victims to perform and record indecent acts before giving him the videos.
He sexually assaulted students aged 13 to 17 years old
It was reported that the incidents happened at different school toilets, a surau, and the victims’ homes in Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Tangkak, between December 2023 and October 2024.
The first 62 charges claim he made the non-physical sexual assault on 7 male junior students, aged between 13 and 17 years old, by getting them to expose their bodies to him.
While the last charge states that he was found with child pornography videos.
He could face up to 15 years in jail for all the charges
If found guilty of the first 62 charges under Section 15(a)(ii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, the accused could face up to 10 years in jail, a fine of up to RM20,000, or both for each charge.
For the final charge under Section 10 of the same Act, he could be jailed for 5 years, fined up to RM10,000, or both.
The court has set Dec 11 for the case mention and document submission.
The accused was granted bail of RM5k with one surety and told not to contact the witnesses or victims until the case is concluded.
