Many of the initial cases having been traced back to a religious cult native to the country, called Shincheonji. Of all the confirmed cases, 3,260 occurred in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do regions. The leader of the religious cult is currently being investigated by South Korean authorities for inadvertently causing deaths in the country due to his followers hiding their Covid-19 statuses.

As numbers continue to increase, we hope those living in South Korea take all the necessary precautions to ensure that they are not infected by the coronavirus!
