A seafood entrepreneur is receiving widespread praise from Malaysians after allowing the public to freely collect seafood scattered across the road following a lorry accident. The incident occurred on Jalan Kampung Peria, Kuala Krai, Kelantan, when a vehicle carrying the goods overturned.

The Facebook pages I Love Kuala Krai and Info Dalam Kuala Krai – IDKK both highlighted the “seafood boss’s” generosity. Remarkably, witnesses noted that while people collected the scattered items, they allegedly refrained from touching any stock that remained unaffected by the accident.

Order amidst chaos

I Love Kuala Krai shared, “This afternoon, a lorry carrying seafood was involved in an accident, causing fish, shrimp, squid, and shellfish to be scattered across the road. It is understood that the ‘fish tauke’ decided to give away all the seafood that had been thrown onto the tarmac to the villagers for free.”

“However, the frozen and unopened seafood was not taken by the villagers, as it was still in good condition and remained unaffected [by the crash].”

The public was not only thankful for the complimentary seafood but also impressed by the manner in which it was collected. There was no pushing or shoving; instead, the atmosphere remained orderly.

“The spontaneous action of the ‘tauke’ was praised by many. Even the villagers collected the seafood in an orderly and polite manner without fighting. Netizens also prayed that the boss’s burdens would be eased and that their livelihood would flourish following such generosity, despite the losses faced due to the accident,” the post added.
