A saddening reality is that people can’t go anywhere in Malaysia without having to watch out for thieves and robbers.

But, can’t someone even enter an elevator without having to worry about their safety and belongings?

The MYNEWSHUB X (formerly known as Twitter) page recently shared scary CCTV footage from inside an elevator of a flat building in Johor Bahru, of a teenager getting robbed by a random man wearing a helmet.

Lift 1

In the video, the 14-year-old boy could be seen already inside the open elevator when 2 men with helmets appeared. One of the men entered the elevator along with the boy while the other walked off.

When the elevator doors closed, the robber then turned around to face the boy and the 2 seemed to have a very tense conversation.

Lift 3

Soon after, the elevator doors opened again and the robber used his body to block the way, keeping his hands on the doors to prevent them from closing again.

The robber then made a phone call as he continued to block the way, stopping the boy from leaving. After the phone call, the robber grabbed the boy in an attempt to take his wallet, but after struggling, the boy was forced to hand over his wallet.

Lift 4

The robber looked inside the wallet, appearing to not take anything and returned the wallet to the boy, but not before saying something tense to the boy.

The teenager was then left alone as the robber exited the elevator and let the doors close.

We’re so happy that the boy got away without any injuries or worse.

Thankfully, according to a report by Berita Harian, the robber has since been arrested.
