As humans, we all crave a life where strong unity is possible among us. However, as leaders who are expected to serve the people in the country, do they have the same thing in mind?

The head of Barisan Nasional (BN) in Sabah, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin thinks he is among the leaders who wants to see unity among the people and the leaders. He said that the leaders in Sabah have a lot to learn from history and the leaders in Sarawak, who are united and do not give space to anyone irresponsible or trying to spark an argument.

“Unity is impossible in Peninsular Malaysia”

Looking at the political landscape in the Peninsular, Bung Moktar said that unity and negotiation among the leaders seem impossible.

“BN & PN are not even negotiating anymore. They have closed the doors. But in Sabah, I’m still communicating with the Chief Minister of Sabah,” Bung said.

He then continued and highlighted the possible effects that may follow if the leaders in Sabah are still not united and fighting with each other.

“We’re the poorest state of the country. If we’re still fighting, the rakyat will suffer and become poorer.”

He said this while speaking at the inaugural lecture in the Kalabakan Parliament Tour Series in Kampung Pasir Putih yesterday (November 13), which was also attended by BN candidate for Kalabakan Parliament Datuk Andi Muhammad Suryady Bandy.

Additionally, Bung also said that BN in Sabah and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) are learning from history to avoid repeating the mistakes made by political parties that are divided among themselves, resulting in the state going backward and the people being affected.

“GE15 is far more different than GE14”

When asked about the trend of the upcoming election, Bung said that the election this year shows a huge difference from the one 5 years ago, reported Astro Awani.

“I see the rakyat now want stability, and not just sweet promises.”

Sabahans, do you agree with Bung’s take on unity among the leaders in the state? GE15 is only days away, and as Malaysians, all we ask for is a government that will truly serve the people and changes the country for the betterment.
