You probably don’t need us to tell you by now, but there have been a lot of ups and downs where Najib and Rosmah’s legal trials are concerned. The disgraced former Prime Minister has been trying all sorts of ways to dodge his trial dates, most famously claiming that the haze was too severe to leave his house last year. Ok la, have to take care of health, right? During that time we also didn’t go out of the house very much, but then again, none of us were standing trial for corruption charges either.

Well it shouldn’t be a huge shock, in that case, to know that beloved ex-First Lady, Rosmah Mansor, has also followed her husband’s route and said that she needed to take M.C (medical certificate) on the very first day of her trial for an alleged bribes-for-contract scandal, which was slated to take place yesterday (3rd February 2020).

So why the sudden M.C.? Apparently Rosmah had to be admitted to a private hospital last night for her ailing health, and was accompanied by her husband, Najib Razak, throughout the entire time. Her doctor had diagnosed her with severe pains to the back of her neck and her spine, and she needs as much rest as possible.

Najib told reporters that “My wife is not healthy and needs to be treated. I will accompany my wife for the duration of her treatment.”

But despite the M.C, court judge Mohamed Zaini Mazlan who will be presiding over her case said that while he sympathises with her condition, it is important that she attend her trial dates as stipulated. In fact, he would even allow her to sit in a wheelchair to ‘stand’ trial.

At this point in time, Rosmah faces three charges of corruption under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC 2009 act.

Well, in any case, we definitely hope that Rosmah feels better and will be able to be fit to ‘stand’ trial soon!
