On 27 September, a freak accident happened in Kuala Kubu Bharu in Selangor.

Siti Halijah Abd Rahim was having the time of her life when she was on a rope swing. She managed to tell her brother that the experience was super exhilarating before the unimaginable happened.

It was reported by mStar that Siti Halijah is a woman who loves extreme sports. Just one day before the incident, her brother said that she climbed a mountain in Negeri Sembilan.

Siti halijah before she took the plunge on the rope swing.

Her brother, Mohamad Yakub, 31 also mentioned that she had always dreamt of going on a rope swing and on 27 September, the whole family went together.

Yakub was done with his turn at the rope swing already when his sister went for her turn. He was waiting where he landed and even managed to ask her how she was feeling. She said,

“Best gila!”

When he turned his back to get to where his sister will land, he heard a splash in the water.

A kayak team was nearby and they managed to save his sister and perform first aid on her. She regained her consciousness and kept telling them that she had lost feeling in her legs.

The family said that they will not hold the rope swing operator responsible.

“All that I ask is for them to install safety features as nets.”

Siti Halijah’s injury extends from her L2 to her L4.

Yakub said that his sister had a career prior to this with the National Anti-Drugs Agency. She stopped working there to take care of their ailing father and ageing mother back in the kampung.

In a phone call with Mohamad Yakub, he told WORLD OF BUZZ that Siti Halijah is now conscious and getting better.

We sincerely hope that she pulls through!
