It’s all about rising prices now, and as most of us are struggling, we tend to look for lower prices in every purchase, including rented rooms.

To pay an amount of RM300 per month for a rented room in Kuala Lumpur may sound too good to be true, but does the price justify the room’s conditions? Recently, a Twitter user took to her account and shared an image of a rented room costing only RM300 per month. However, it may not be in the best condition that you want to live in.

Based on the image that she shared, the narrow room comes only with a mattress and a fan attached to the wall. By the looks of it, the space can only fit one person. The caption reads ‘Good morning to everyone except to the person who rented out this room.’

The owner of the post revealed in the comments section that the unit is somewhere in Maluri, Cheras, KL.

‘It is said to be the nearest to an LRT station, Pavilion, and it comes with the view of the KLCC towers.’

‘Is this a grave?’

Her tweet, which was shared yesterday morning (July 30) gained the attention of Malaysians. Some of them were not fond of what they had to see and described the room as a grave.

‘Does the room follow the measurements of a grave?’

‘Rooms in Maluri shouldn’t be that expensive. But the unit in the picture looks like the size of a grave.’

In the meantime, some users also shared their experience of renting a room at an unjustifiable price.

‘Mine has a bed and I paid RM350, but it lasted me only a month. Got myself to a better place. I still don’t understand why the rooms in Maluri are like this.’

‘Folks in KL will soon be like those from Hong Kong!’

‘Not just in KL I used to work in Segamat, Johor where the 1 shop lot had 10 isolated rooms, with only 1 shared bathroom. We were like sardines.’

Would you have stayed in this unit or would you have found yourself a better place with better conditions at a higher price?
