“Residents pay the bills” – Pakcik Told to Leave Rimbayu Surau by Inconsiderate Woman

A video that recently went viral on social media shows an elderly man (pakcik), who was visiting a surau near Bandar Rimbayu, Selangor, being asked to leave by an unidentified woman. She claimed that the man was not permitted to be there outside of designated prayer times.

The incident occurred at Musolla Halaman 11. In the video, the woman is seen holding her phone as she approaches the man, who was finishing his prayers. She tells him that he has been there long enough.

Upon entering the surau, the woman begins questioning the man’s presence.

“Pakcik, I need to ask why you are here. You’re not allowed to be here as there have been cases of theft at this surau.”

“You’re not from around here, right? We don’t allow visitors to stay after mass prayers. This is actually the residents’ property, as they pay the bills for the surau. I’m sorry, but I’ll have to ask you to leave as we will be locking the surau,” she said.

The pakcik, choosing not to escalate the situation, quietly turned to leave. However, the woman continued.

“Pakcik, before you leave, please turn off the lights. Yesterday, I noticed the toilet lights were left on.”

Netizens who viewed the video were unimpressed by the woman’s insistence that the man was not allowed to pray at the surau.

In response to the incident, the working committee of Musolla Halaman 11 issued a public statement.

“In light of the recently viral video involving two individuals near Musolla Halaman 11, the working committee would like to clarify that the actions taken were done without our consent.”

“The Musolla welcomes anyone who wishes to spend time here, and the actions of this individual in turning people away are regrettable and not condoned by the committee,” read the statement.
