Ladies and akak-akak, have you ever experienced your husband suddenly going missing in the house, only to find him slowly coming out of the bathroom later with a smirk on his face?

Well, according to a study, as reported by Mirror UK, a third of British men admitted that they hide themselves in their bathrooms at home for some peace and quiet.

The research asked 1000 men and discovered that in a year, these men spent a total of seven years in the bathroom, just to get some time away from their surroundings.

Apart from needing some peaceful moments, they also used their toilet as an escape from their nagging wives or to avoid having to deal with their kids.

They also take this opportunity to run away from doing chores around the house. So malas lah these men! But I’m a man also, alamak!

The research, that was commissioned by bathroom experts (walao got such thing meh?), Pebble Grey, also found that these bathroom visits are sometimes interrupted about 1 in 10 on average, which accumulates to 171 in a year.

A spokesman said,

“We all need a little bit of time to ourselves – to take stock or switch off completely. And bathroom appears to be the go-to place for those moments – it’s very much a sanctuary, somewhere we can cut ourselves off from the outside world, albeit just temporarily.”

The research also found out that the interruptions that occur are often caused by their partners.

According to the research, 45 percent of the men admitted that getting any “me” time is a struggle and some claimed that their partners do not appreciate the time that they sacrificed at work.

25 percent even said that if they cannot get some bathroom time, they will not know hope to cope with the stress.

But what’s the saddest find is that 23 percent of these man take the bathroom as their refuge, somewhere they can be safe.

We are sure this is actually practiced by men all over the world. Even if it may seem as though they are running from their responsibilities, cut them some slack, especially for those who have gone through so much stress to provide for their loved ones.
