If there is one great thing that we can learn from the people of East Malaysia, it is how tolerant they can be of each other. The multi-ethnic and multi-religious groups of people there will continuously focus on the commonalities instead of dwelling on their differences.

Recently, it was announced that a new major church would be built in Kuching. The beautifully designed church will also become the new landmark of the city when it is ready.

This announcement has prompted tonnes of positive reactions from the community in East Malaysia — including Malays! — and they make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. One love!

We were touched by how united and supportive the community there are despite the differences in their faith and beliefs.

We will be stepping into 2020 next year and while we haven’t exactly reached our developmental goals, we still have time to work towards building strong relationships within the communities around us. Hopefully, we can learn a lesson or two from our siblings in East Malaysia because we are all in this together.
