What could go wrong with a pizza? Unfortunately, a lot could go wrong and for some, the answer may be having a snake in said pizza.

It was reported by CNN that the American company, Pizza Hut, has teamed up with a snake-specialising restaurant in Hong Kong to create a limited-edition snake pizza.

Now, it is said that this pizza is like a snake stew- a delicacy that has been eaten for a long time in Hong Kong and Southern China. Many believe that consuming snakes has medicinal properties.

The combination of toppings on the pizza is a little unusual as well as it features: shredded snake meat, black mushrooms, Chinese dried ham, diced chicken and cheese.

“Paired with cheese and diced chicken, the snake meat becomes richer in taste, it is also nourishing and can boost blood circulation.”

This limited-edition pizza will also feature a new sauce base – an abalone sauce base (not the tomato sauce base, thankfully) and it will be on sale from now till 22 November.

Karen Chan, general manager of Pizza Hut Hong Kong and Macao, said:

“The extraordinary snake pizzas offer a perfect balance to all flavours, both tantalizing and savoury for this season.”
