The Pfizer booster shot can allegedly neutralise the Omicron variant.

Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE recently shared the news via a statement announcing results from an initial laboratory study that demonstrated the vaccine’s ability to curb the Omicron variant with a 3rd dose.

Additional studies have also shown that the booster of the Pfizer vaccine can increase antibodies by 25-fold.

“According to the companies’ preliminary data, a third dose provides a similar level of neutralising antibodies to Omicron as is observed after two doses against wild-type and other variants that emerged before Omicron”, they shared.

Pfizer-BioNTech is hoping that a 3rd dose of their vaccine will help protect the world from the spread of Omicron.

Pfizer 2

“Our preliminary, first data-set indicate that a third dose could still offer a sufficient level of protection from disease of any severity caused by the Omicron variant.”

“We continue to work on an adapted vaccine which, we believe, will help to induce a high level of protection against Omicron-induced Covid-19 diseases as well as prolonged protection compared to the current vaccine”, said Ugur Shain, M.D., CEO and Co-Founder of BioNTech.

Would you consider taking a Pfizer booster shot if it means protection from Omicron? Let us know in the comment section.
