Two women in Segamat, Johor, recently caught the public’s ire after a viral video showed them bringing their pet dog to the park and letting it play on the slide.

The video was shared on the Facebook group JEMENTAH, where one of the women in the playground was seen letting the dog climb up and slide down the children’s slide.

The video sparked heated discussions in the group, with some urging the relevant authorities to put up signs to alert the residents about the prohibitions of bringing dogs to the place.

In another post in the group, a social media user revealed that the slide had been cleaned by a Segamat Municipal Council officer, who also disinfected the area for the convenience of the people in the park.

The social media user also thanked the officer for his prompt action in cleaning the place following the viral incident.

“No pets in the playground”

Netizens, on the other hand, believe that the playground is not meant for pets and urge the relevant authorities to take action and enforce the laws about bringing pet animals to the playground.

“Please issue a summon as a lesson for others. A mere signboard might not mean anything to them.”

“The dog is innocent but not its owners. Hopefully, history doesn’t repeat itself. The playground is open for all.”

“All playgrounds are meant for kids. Hopefully, the authorities can put up signs after this to remind them about the penalty for bringing pets to the playground.”

“Sometimes, they might not understand the unspoken rules, so the authorities should put up signs to make sure this thing doesn’t happen again. A big thank you to the municipal council for your concern.”
