Just yesterday, a Toyota Camry driver went viral for not making way for the ambulance on KL road and even stopped it from overtaking.

Just last night (January 26), the traffic department in PDRM released an official statement and revealed the Toyota driver, a 41-year-old woman, was brought in by the police to assist in the investigation. Police also revealed the woman is suffering from psychiatric issues.

Following the investigation, the woman was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment, and the police are also trying to obtain her medical report.

The case is classified under Section 42(1) APJ 1987.

PDRM located the Toyota driver after the medical officers, who initially uploaded the dashcam footage on their TikTok account, lodged a police report. The dashcam footage has since been removed from their account but has been widely circulating on social media.

Police urge the public to come forward and provide relevant information.

During the incident, the medical team was rushing to send the patient home after the doctor deemed the patient too critical. The incident took place on the MRR2 Highway, near the Flamingo Plaza, where the team was headed towards Gombak.

If you have a driver’s license and if you can get your hands behind the wheel legally, you should be aware that making way for ambulances and other emergency vehicles is a must. Stay safe on the road!
