It appears that there are Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers that are alleged repeat offenders of failed drug tests.
Based on a report by Sinar Harian, Perak Police Chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid shared that this even includes cases of officers who have been taken to court before.
According to him, the latest cases were detected following a surprise urine screening during an in-service training session at the Ipoh District Police Headquarters (IPD).
“Yesterday (Wednesday) we conducted the tests and found that there were some among them who failed, so they have been arrested.”
“Some of them (who have failed their drug tests) have been charged in court (before), but the court acquitted them. So this time, we take action again against them, we are sure they are still involved in drug abuse activities,” he explained.
Such police officers should be fired from their positions
The news sparked outraged as Malaysians called for stricter action.
“Just fire officers like this. There are many more people out there who are more qualified to become police officers,” said a user.
“That’s why when they are caught the first time, they must immediately be fired. Don’t keep them on anymore, they will not repent and will only keep doing it.”
We genuinely hope that the authorities take the appropriate action against these officers to prevent any misconduct within our law enforcement.
