Egg swapping, the act of swapping eggs from different cartons to get a carton full of the best eggs, happens too often at supermarkets.

However, some people have taken it to the next level by swapping cheaper eggs with more premium ones at a supermarket.

In a viral video on Twitter, the woman could be seen carefully selecting eggs from the top shelf and discreetly placing them into a carton on a lower shelf.

According to the original caption on the video, the woman allegedly took the more expensive Grade A eggs and placed them into a cheaper Grade B egg carton to purchase the premium eggs at a lower price.

The video reposted on X, has garnered more than 1.5 million views, with netizens criticising the woman for her selfish act.

“Sis, if you can’t afford it, act like it. (Next time) have your own chickens at home if you want it so cheap.”

Another commented, “Such a cheapskate. Only a difference of a few cents, and you wanna swap. What for? Would you become poor if you’d pay extra for better quality ones?

Meanwhile, others shared similar instances they experienced.

“This is normal. When I used to work at an Aeon, this happened too often that we had to place security guards in the egg section.”

“Just saw this 2-3 days ago at Speedmart. I thought they were the staff but turns out it was just a customer,” said a user.
