PDRM is Tracing Man Who Brought Pet Dog to Segamat Mamak, The Chair It Sat On Has Been Discarded

Previously, we shared a viral incident in which a patron of a Mamak restaurant in Segamat, Johor, brought his pet poodle to the eatery and let it sit on a chair next to him, causing outrage online.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have since issued a statement regarding the incident, saying that they, alongside the Segamat Municipal Council, are currently tracing the individual seen in the video.

In a statement, Segamat District Police Chief Superintendent Ahmad Zamry bin Marinsah revealed that the Segamat District Police was made aware of the viral video yesterday (16 May).

He then confirmed that his side received a police report on the incident, which revealed that it took place on 11 May 2025 at around 12pm at Restoran Natasha Nasi Kandar Penang in Segamat Baru, Segamat, Johor.

Furthermore, a worker at the eatery was present at the Segamat District Police Headquarters to provide a statement on the incident.

The worker asserted that the chair on which the pet dog sat had been discarded by the eatery after they informed about what had transpired to their employer.

Ahmad Zamry said that the case is being investigated under the Local Government Act 1976.

The Segamat District Police also welcome any information from the public regarding the incident, and they can do so by visiting their nearest police station or contacting the Segamat District Police Headquarters at 07-9324222.
