Driving is not just about skills but also patience. Reckless driving will not only cause trouble but also endanger other road users.

Just recently, a video that shows a dispute between a motorcycle rider and a Proton Saga driver went viral on social media. The driver is seen kicking down the rider’s vehicle before punching him in the guts and face. The public tried to stop the fight but to no avail. The driver continued to confront the rider and intimidate him.

The man parked his car at the junction near the traffic light and caused traffic at the scene by “trapping” other road users in his drama. Despite the rider’s attempt to avoid him, the driver continued to walk towards the rider and shouted at him. At the end of the clip, the driver went back into his car and drove away.

What actually happened that caused the driver to get physical?

According to the chief Police of South Klang, Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, the 21-year-old rider lodged a police report at 12:44 am on Monday (October 2), and said that he was stopped by the driver of the Proton Saga. 2 other men were also in the car at the time of the incident, which happened at a traffic light in Jalan Langat-Klang at 7:15 pm.

The dispute happened after the rider honked at the driver who drove recklessly and nearly collided into the said motorcycle. The driver, on the other hand, was not happy about the honk, and it prompted him to damage the rider’s motorcycle before physically assaulting him.

According to Hoong Fong, there is more to what was shown in the video.

“1 of the men in car pushed the victim, strangled him before punching him a few times in the face and guts.”

Due to the assault, the victim suffered injuries on his lips, ribs, and legs.

An investigation paper under Section 323 and Section 427 of the Penal Code has been launched, and PDRM is now on the hunt for the suspects. Witnesses are urged to come forward to provide relevant information and in the meantime, you can watch the video below.

Regardless of the reasons, it is never right for anyone to get physical. If you happen to get into an accident, it’s best to lodge a police report for the sake of both parties.
