The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is investigating a man for throwing trophies and a shirt, both with the official logo of the Sultan of Perlis’s Silver Jubilee, into a drain.
According to a report by Kosmo, the Padang Besar District Deputy Police Chief, Superintendent Sarih Salleh, shared that his department received a report from a Kangar Municipal Council member in regards to the incident.
The man uploaded a video of himself tossing the items

“The man was found to have uploaded a recording of his actions onto his social media platforms at 8pm on June 3 (Tuesday). The video shows the suspect throwing 3 trophies and a shirt into a drain, believed to be because he was dissatisfied with the event organiser,” he said.
The items were reported to be prizes for the winners of a car decorating competition in conjunction with the Perlis Perodua Day, which took place at the Kangar Stadium from May 29 (Thursday) to June 1 (Sunday).
“We are taking the act seriously because the trophies and shirt contain the official logo of the Perlis Sultan’s Silver Jubilee. The action was described as rude and disrespectful to the state’s royal institution,” he added.
The man has removed the video and made a public apology
Investigations revealed that the suspect deleted the video and made a public apology before a police report was filed against him.
“The suspect claimed he acted like this because he was not satisfied with the change in shirt design required by the organisers, in addition to claiming that all trophies were uniform for each winner,” Superintendent Sarih Salleh explained.
This case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
