PDRM in Johor busted the base of a drug trafficking group at two locations in Taman Pelangi. Drugs and related items worth over RM204,000 were confiscated but there was something perhaps more shocking about the case.
1 of the suspects in the case is a 69-year-old woman!
In a press conference by the Johor police yesterday (September 2), Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat said the 69-year-old woman’s son and his girlfriend are also involved in the case.
The drug trafficking base was located in a rented house and an apartment unit disguised as a homestay. PDRM found methamphetamine, marijuana, and ketamine. The drugs seized were worth RM157,964 in the market, which is enough to supply nearly 5,000 drug addicts.
“The suspects hid small packages of drugs in the battery of a motorcycle. They have been active since July this year, and they would divide the drugs into small packages before distributing it to the market.”
5 suspects in total (3 men and 2 women) were arrested. All of them were tested positive for drugs.
Police also confiscated a fake gun in their residence, which was purchased online.
“The fake gun had 33 bullets in it. However, it could not fire the bullets but the gun could imitate a real gunshot sound.”
The joint operation was conducted by the Johor State Narcotics Crime Investigation Team and the Johor Bahru South District Narcotics Crime Investigation Team at 1 AM on August 27.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 (drug trafficking) and Section 36(1) of the Arms Act 1960 (import, possession or custody of imitation firearms).
The arrested suspects will be remanded until September 9.
