The local police in Taichung, Taiwan, had to intervene and disperse the crowd gathering outside a middle school in the city to see a performance by 2 pole dancers for a graduating male student.

As reported by SCMP, the pole dancers were actually hired by the boy’s parents to celebrate his graduation, with his mother saying that she wanted to provide him with a gift that is “unforgettable”.

The incident took place in mid-June outside Taichung Municipal Wanhe Junior High School, right as students exited the building following the conclusion of the school’s graduation ceremony.

Students and parents alike gathered to watch the performance as the young boy stood between the pole dancers as they performed.

The pole dancers then climbed onto the roofs of two SUVs, where separate poles were installed, and continued their ‘spicy’ performance.

The mother choreographed the performance herself

Following the incident going viral, the boy’s mother, in an interview with local media, revealed that the performance was sponsored by her friend. Furthermore, the whole performance was choreographed by the mother herself.

The mother shared that she wanted the celebration to ‘stand out’ among various graduation activities, asserting,

“Other parents organised various programmes for the graduation ceremony, so I wanted ours to be more creative than theirs… I hope this will be an unforgettable gift for my son”

The boy was also interviewed by local media, in which he revealed that he was stunned and speechless by the whole thing. “However, considering my parents’ intentions, I chose not to object,” the boy said.

Given the notoriety the performance garnered, an official from the school stressed that the institution does not endorse such a celebration. The official said,

“We will strengthen our educational efforts and encourage parents to celebrate graduations in a more rational manner, avoiding unnecessary expenses,”
