The famous Aidilfitri Bazaar at Lorong Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) in Kuala Lumpur has seemingly returned to its pre-pandemic popularity as it has recorded over 210,000 visitors since beginning operation on 9 April 2022. In fact, the bazaar recorded its highest daily visitors since the pandemic last Sunday (17 April 2022) with approximately 21,600 people.
As reported by national news agency Bernama, Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah said that a total of 420 enforcement personnel are on duty to monitor security at the bazaar, ensuring smooth traffic flow as well as SOP compliance. These personnel include from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM),Malaysian Volunteer Department (RELA) and Malaysian Immigration Department (JIM).
The Kuala Lumpur Mayor asserted,
“Apart from having to comply with standard operating procedures (SOP) on the wearing of face mask, visitors are also advised to always be vigilant and take care of their safety, especially those who bring along small children.I also advise visitors to the bazaar by taking the public transport, such as the bus or the Light Rail Transit (LRT) to avoid parking problem,”
The Lorong TAR Aidilfitri Bazaar operates until 2 May 2022 from 10am to 12am everyday, except on Friday, Saturday and Sunday when its operation is from 10am to 2am. If you’re planning to visit the bazaar, please ensure that you follow SOP and stay safe okay!
