19yo M’sian Uni Student in Critical Condition After Being Stabbed by Her Ex-Boyfriend on Campus

A shocking incident took place at a university in Sungai Petani, Kedah, yesterday (17 March), as a 19-year-old female student was stabbed from behind by a male student on campus.

The attack took place at around 10.30am and left the victim in critical condition with serious injuries on the back of her body.

According to Sinar Harian, both the suspect and the victim are 19 years old and foundation students at the university. The suspect is also revealed to be the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

The victim was walking with a group of friends to the university library before being approached by the suspect.

The suspect then stabbed the victim from behind until she fell to the ground. During the struggle, the suspect suffered injuries to his hands.

The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani, and thankfully, she is now awake and in stable condition.

Sinar Harian quoted Kuala Muda District Police Chief ACP Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail as saying that the suspect was arrested while he was receiving treatment at the campus clinic after the police received a report from the university’s security department.

The case is being investigated under Sections 324 and 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, respectively.
