A store staff member is calling for parents to be more aware of their children’s actions in public spaces after a boy damaged a pair of shoes at a store where she is working at the Design Village Outlet Mall in Penang.

The staff member, Nurul Syuhada, took to her TikTok page to showcase CCTV footage of the boy using his fingernails to scratch at a pair of shoes on display at the store.

She wrote, “(He) used his fingernails to claw at a pair of shoes until the shoes were full of scratches. Sure, it can be polished until (the scratches) are gone, but it won’t be easy for us to convince customers to buy them.”

“Guys, please be more aware of your children, even if this boy isn’t exactly small, we still can urge them to behave. Because we’re in a shopping mall, the things we sell are not toys for children to play with. If they want to play, maybe they can be brought to a playground.”

Nurul Syuhada also took to her TikTok stories to showcase the boy’s ‘artwork’ that was left behind on the pair of shoes and showed that the scratches couldn’t be fully removed despite polishing.

We genuinely hope that parents pay more attention to what their child is doing, especially in public spaces, to not inconvenience others.

Cakar kasut kulit pakai kuku sampai bercalar balar kasut kita. Terima kasih.
