It was recently reported that Bangi MP Syahredzan Johan and Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman were among the Malay leaders elected to the DAP Central Executive Committee (CEC) for the 2025-2028 term.

And while some celebrated their appointments, not everyone was happy about this as many, who do not support DAP, took to social media to label the Malay MPs as ‘traitors’.

“They are DAP slaves. Traitors to their religion and race.”

But, there was one particular comment that caught Syahredzan’s attention.

Is that a threat?

Comment 1

The comment read, “These are the faces of the traitors of race and religion. When the machetes start flying again later, they will run to hide while full of fear, but will still lose and be buried in the ground in a humiliated manner with their masters.”

Apologise or face consequences

Taking to his Facebook page, Syahredzan Johan has since called for the person who left the comment to delete it and post a public apology. Should she choose otherwise, he will file a police report as he considers the comment a threat.

Comment 2

He wrote, “On the Facebook page, you left a comment that to me, is a comment in the form of a threat towards me, that can lead to a crime under the Penal Code. I can file a police report tomorrow. If I file a police report, I’m sure the police will be able to find you. Your life is posted on social media. It won’t be difficult to track you down.”

“If I take such a step, your life will be disrupted. There is a possibility that you will be arrested. Even though you made threats against me, I don’t want you to end up like that. Hari Raya is approaching, I don’t want to affect anyone’s life. So, I am giving you a chance to apologise to me. Make a public posting, deleted your previous comment and post a new comment sincerely apologising.”

He also gave her until 12pm today (Tuesday, March 18) to do so or he will file the police report.

As of the time of writing (12:20pm, Tuesday, March 18), the comment appears to have been removed, the woman’s account is locked and there seems to be no public apology yet.

What do you think about this? Do feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section.
