In a report by China Press, the Japanese Television Company NHK reported that the number of patients who visited medical institutions due to influenza infection in the past week alone reached 340,000.
The number of COVID-19 infections has also increased, with 15,163 people in Japan infected with the virus as of December 8.
In August this year, the Japan News reported that over 50% of job workers in the country were forced to quit or take sick leaves due to their weakened health.
According to statistics from the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, as of December 8, the number of new COVID-19 patients in Japan reached 15,163, an increase of 3,218 from the previous week.
As for influenza, 44,673 patients were recorded, an increase of 20,000 patients from the past week.
