The wait is over, and Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim finally unveiled what he had in store for Malaysians during his special announcement this morning (July 23), which included cash aid and an additional holiday.
While Fahmi Fadzil saw the approaches as the government’s commitment to helping fellow Malaysians, PAS member Fadhli Shaari said that there was “nothing special” in PMX’s special announcement.

Despite the PM’s announcement, Fadhli reiterated that the “Turun Anwar” rally will go on, and in his statement posted on Facebook shortly after the announcement, he explained that PMX’s special announcement could’ve been done during the tabling of Budget 2026 in October.
In response to the one-off RM100 cash aid that will be disbursed to all Malaysians aged 18 and above through the MyKad, Fadhli said it was merely an attempt to diffuse public anger ahead of the planned rally this weekend.
Anti-climactic
Fadhli, who is also the Information Chief of PAS, called the special announcement anti-climactic.
“What we got today doesn’t match the teaser shown a week ago – as if it were a blockbuster film, but it turned out to be a low-quality movie edited using pirated software.”
“The 6 sen price reduction in RON95 doesn’t warrant a live televised announcement by the Prime Minister”

In another Facebook post, Fadhli also mentioned Pakatan Harapan’s previous manifesto to abolish tolls gradually, and said that the PM did not keep his promise.
“In the end, PM announced that toll fares will maintain and won’t rise. What’s so great about it if he was going to maintain the toll fares all along?”
In general, Fadhli said that PMX’s announcement this morning won’t have a long-term impact. He then invited Malaysians to join the rally this weekend, which aims to “push” Anwar to step down as PM.
“Step down! See you this Saturday (July 26)!”
What do you think of Fadhli’s take on this matter, and what do you think of the Madani government’s plan in this extraordinary appreciation announcement?
