After much anticipation, the long-awaited announcement was finally made by Anwar at 10:30 AM today.

He stated that in conjunction with National Day, all Malaysians aged 18 and above will receive a one-off RM100 payment, which will be disbursed via the MyKad.

He also announced that September 15 (Monday) will be declared an additional public holiday, in conjunction with Malaysia Day, which falls on September 16.
