Cashless payments are fast becoming the norm in Malaysia, with many businesses preferring transactions via e-wallets or credit and debit cards rather than cash.

However, there are times when physical money is still more practical, especially during subpar internet connections or when the cashless payment system is down, as well as if there is an extra charge for using the service. Well, for such a time, this particular Mamak restaurant has the perfect solution for those who didn’t bring cash.

Going viral on social media, a photo of the Mamak restaurant shows that it has its own automated teller machine (ATM) at its premises, located right beside the cashier counter!

Shared by X user @khairilzulfadhli, the post has since gone viral with over 18,400 likes and 11,600 reposts, with many Malaysians in the replies sharing their amusement at the sight.

It is unknown where exactly the photo was taken as @khairilzulfadhli didn’t mention the exact location of the restaurant.

A closer look at the photo also shows that the restaurant covers all its bases as besides having an ATM machine, it also accepts cashless payment via e-wallets and QR code payments.

In the replies, many commenters joked that the restaurant is proof as to why many Mamak eateries have the word ‘Maju’, roughly translated to English as ‘advanced’, in their names.

Besides that, one commenter said that patrons at the restaurant can no longer give excuses for not having cash with them and asking to ‘pay later’ for their meals. Another comment jokingly, saying that they can no longer ask their friend to pay for their meals first as the ATM is right there.
