A burger stall entrepreneur in Ampang, Kuala Lumpur recently took to TikTok to share his unfortunate experience of being scammed by a customer who left his stall with food worth over RM40 without paying.

Worse, the customer ordered the same set of food when leaving with the burgers, claiming wanting to get some cash back at home and would be returning to the stall to pay the full amount, as well as take the rest of the order. The customer never returned.

The burger seller shared the experience on his TikTok account @mohdazroyampang, with the video going viral with over 218,400 views and more than 7,025 likes.

In the video, he further elaborated that the individual was actually a notorious scammer in Ampang, with many other food vendors also scammed after falling for the same modus operandi.

He thus advised other food vendors to be careful and stay vigilant so as to not fall for the scam. However, despite suffering losses of over RM80, the entrepreneur chose to take the high road and seemingly forgave the scammer.

In the video’s caption, he wrote,

“With humility, I will consider the food that you took as halal, hopefully there will be other rezeki for me in the future.”

In the video’s comments section, many felt sorry for the burger seller and urged for the payment procedure to be improved so that the incident won’t happen again.

One commenter said that after this, the seller should request customers to pay first before letting them leave with the food.
