JPJ announced that starting 10 October 2024, logins to the MyJPJ app will now require users to have a MyDigital ID.

MyDigital ID is a digital form of identification used to authenticate users for online transactions. It aims to protect Malaysians from online fraud and identity theft and make it more convenient for them to verify their identity.

In case you’re wondering, yes, it is safe to register, and also fast and secure for online transactions.

It may sound like a lot of work but it requires a 1-time registration only for future conveniences. Plus, it’s free!

There are 2 ways to register for a MyDigital ID

1. Via the app

If you plan to register through the app, make sure to download the app from the iOS store or Google Play. Once downloaded, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Open the app and key in your e-mail on the homepage.
  2. You should receive a one-time-PIN (OTP) via e-mail, key in the OTP into the app.
  3. Key in your name and IC number (you will be prompted to take photos of your IC as well as a selfie for verification purposes)
  4. Once that’s done, create your password and you’re good to go!

You can watch the tutorial video here.

2. Via a kiosk

If you prefer registering at a kiosk, here’s how you do it (remember to have your IC with you):
