Local actor, 47-year-old Datuk Aaron Aziz had recently posted a video to his Instagram account, showcasing himself interacting with Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, American director Sam Hargrave and fellow local actor Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin, on stage at the premiere of the upcoming Netflix movie, Extraction 2 in Manila, Philippines.

He wrote, “Alhamdulillah for the opportunity to be in Manila.”

Many were quick to get excited over the presence of the Malaysian actor on stage during the premiere and assumed that it was because he was in the movie! Well, that apparently isn’t the case.

“(He) got to act with Thor, amazing!”

Netflix has since confirmed that he is, in fact, NOT in the movie.

According to a report by Utusan Malaysia, the management of Netflix in Malaysia confirmed that Datuk Aaron Aziz did not act in Extraction 2, but was instead merely attending the premiere as an invited guest.

Both Datuk Aaron Aziz and Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin were invited to represent Malaysia at the red carpet event and the premiere of Extraction 2 for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, which took place in Manila.

“Aaron Aziz and Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin are not involved in the movie Extraction 2. Their arrival there is based on an invitation to represent Malaysia at the premiere,” shared Maker Lab, the management agency representing Netflix in Malaysia.

Hey, who knows, maybe Datuk Aaron Aziz will have the opportunity to appear in Extraction 3 (should the Extraction series turn into a trilogy).
