A Nepali man recently acted out of control when he allegedly sodomised a cat before throwing the animal from the fourth floor of an apartment in Kota Kemuning recently.

Acting Shah Alam District Police Chief, Superintendent Ramsay Anak Embol, said a police report was received from a resident of the apartment at 12:30 AM on Saturday.

According to him, the complainant stated that she and her husband had just arrived at their residence when they saw, from inside their car, a naked man believed to be sodomising a cat.

“The complainant’s husband then went up to the fourth floor of the apartment to confront the suspect, but the suspect threw the cat down before fleeing.”

“The incident was also recorded by the complainant using her mobile phone,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

Suspect under influence of alcohol during the incident

He added that at 4:45 AM the same day, Shah Alam District Police Headquarters arrested a 33-year-old Nepali man.

The suspect, who works as a security guard at the apartment, is now remanded for five days until 19 November to assist in the investigation.

“Preliminary investigation shows the suspect has no mental health issues and was only under the influence of alcohol during the incident,” he said.

He stressed that the case is being investigated under Section 377 of the Penal Code and Section 428 of the Penal Code.

“Anyone with further information about the incident can contact the Criminal Investigation Officer, Inspector Mohamad Zulkifli Mohamad, at 0111-6958529,” he said.

Meanwhile, residents of the apartment have described the act as cruel and inhumane.

A resident known as Farah, 50, said this was the first such incident since she had lived there for many years.

“How could he (the suspect) do such a thing? Where is his humanity? Even those who are mentally unstable wouldn’t think of doing something like this.”

Another resident, Azri, 30, said the act was extremely inhumane.

“How could anyone do such a thing? Whether he’s local or foreign, that’s not the issue. What makes me angrier is that he crossed the boundaries of humanity by sodomising an animal,” he said.
