“All can join: old, young, Muslims, non-Muslims” – MUDA is Now Officially a Political Party!
After having to go through a whirlwind court case with the Home Ministry (KDN), the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) is now officially registered as a political party!
MUDA founder and now president, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, shared that the multiracial youth-centric party was officially registered on 23 December but due to their ongoing humanitarian work in flood-struck areas, they completed overlooked the announcement.
“We have some great news. Maybe we overlooked reading our emails last night because we are currently in Pahang, zig-zagging from one location to another. But Alhamdulillah finally, MUDA has been officially registered and we have received the email from ROS (The Registry of Societies Malaysia).”
“Thank you very much! We can’t focus right now, I mean we are not going to focus on politics now because our current focus is to provide aid to the victims of the floods. But, we are going to take a little bit of time to be happy and to show some level of gratitude to the people who have supported us, the rakyat who have helped us a lot”, he said in a video shared on his Twitter page.
He went on to emphasise that MUDA will continue to serve the Malaysian people, regardless of race or religion, to make our country a better one.
With that being said, he welcomes all to join MUDA, old, young, Muslim and non-Muslim.
