M’sians Are Amused by This CNY Ad Inspired by Stephen Chow & We Totally See Why!

For us, Chinese New Year isn’t just about spending time with family and friends and ringing in the new year – it’s also about watching the newest ads! 😝 And this time, we found a wacky new local CNY ad that’s inspired by the king of comedy himself, Stephen Chow.

This new CNY ad from Aiken stars local influencers like Jayden Chong, Suzanne Lay, Christine Yeoh and Jia Song, settling a dispute in a football showdown that looks very familiar to fellow Malaysians. 🤔

It’s impossible not to see the ad’s uncanny resemblance to a Stephen Chow classic, but we appreciate Aiken’s attempt to capture its eccentricity while promoting their Aiken Vita-C Exfoliating Water & Serum. 😂 They even tried reaching out to Stephen Chow on Instagram to invite him to watch it!

Most CNY ads tend to be sentimental or festive, so it’s nice to see this skincare brand churning an ad that’s this zany and out-of-the-box – it looks like we aren’t the only ones who think that way!
