Many Malaysians work in Singapore during the day and come back to Malaysia at night. Doing so allows them to earn in the strong Singaporean Dollar while spending in Malaysian Ringgit.

However, one netizen said that there are instances where Singaporean stuff, in this example, food, is cheaper when compared to JB.

According to China Press, a Malaysian who works in Singapore had posted on a Facebook group asking if other Malaysians had the same experience.

In that post, he says that he likes to eat mixed rice in Singapore for his dinner as it is cheaper there. He uploaded a picture of a plate of rice, tofu and meat all in large portions with the post.

It is said that the plate of mixed rice costs only SGD2.70 which is around RM8.70. Some netizens commented that the same plate of rice would cost RM12 in Johor Bahru and if we do the calculations, it is an RM3.30 difference.

Other netizens said that the price of food is also increasing in Singapore and would like to know where the mixed rice stall is.

Well, food prices are definitely going up but if we know where to look, we can definitely find food offered at a lower price range. What’s your take on this?
