Elevator modernisation means upgrading elevator systems with fancy tech and cool features to improve efficiency and meet customer needs. It gives the old lift a high-tech makeover to match the latest trends and make it run smoother and appear modern.

In a recent hilarious TikTok video that has been circulating online, @reenaienn and her friends can be seen struggling to figure out how to operate the lift.

Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Reen revealed how the incident took place at The FACE Platinum Suites in Kuala Lumpur.

She continued to share how they were attempting to take the lift downstairs. However, upon reaching the lift, they realised it appeared futuristic and different from the usual lifts they had seen.

“I laugh every time I recall the incident. It took us forever to figure out how to operate the lift.”

The lift wasn’t as futuristic as they had imagined it to be

Thinking that the lift might simply be a more advanced model, they even attempted to scan their faces and hands when they noticed the word “FACE” displayed on the wall.

Reen mentioned that after several unsuccessful attempts, a Korean couple approached them and explained that the lift they were supposed to take was actually a different one located next to the lift they were tampering with.

Reen then revealed that after they made their way to the other lift, they laughed as they managed to get in to which they only had to scan with an access card, making them realise that the lift wasn’t modern to the extent where scanning faces were required.

The video has caught the attention of netizens online, who too found the situation amusing.

“I went through the same experience during my stay there. Luckily, there was a cleaner nearby who showed me how to use the lift. Otherwise, I would’ve been stuck there trying to figure it out for hours.”

“The lift is to blame. I had a similar experience to yours.”

“I can imagine the staff watching you guys on CCTV were having a good laugh.”

“If that’s the situation, I might think about staying somewhere else next time I go on holiday. Even dealing with iSoho was a headache, let alone this place.”
