I think we can all agree that university life is one of the poorest times in our lives, especially that last two weeks before our PTPTN money comes in. Thankfully, Grab’s latest platform can help solve this problem!

On 13 March, Grab launched their latest platform known as GrabVarsity in collaboration with a few Malaysian universities at University Malaya.

According to The Sun Daily, this is an unprecedented move offered by Grab that would effectively solve the transportation problem faced by fellow students.

“Not only will the programme be able to ease the lives of tertiary students via various lifestyle benefits and rewards, the programme also offers real-life work experience to the students through one of the programme’s four pillars – apprenticeship placement.”

“Through this apprenticeship placement, students are given first-hand learning opportunities at Grab Malaysia where they can work and learn from the best while developing their professional skills for the future,” Grab Malaysia’s Country Head, Sean Goh said.

Under this platform, students can also participate in a short-term student-only Grab driver programme, which includes short-term car rentals that allows students to earn a supplementary income. This would greatly benefit students who would like to drive for Grab but don’t own a car!

On top of that, there is also a reward programme that’s exclusively for university students.

FYI, the short-term programme is only open to local students. Meanwhile, the reward programme and apprentice placement are open to everyone regardless of nationality.

Also, the flexible working hours will prevent students from neglecting their studies and assignmentsCurrently, GrabVarsity is only available at these universities.

• University Malaya (UM)

• University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM)

• University Malaysia Perlis (UNIMAP)

It was reported that Grab will be expanding this platform to other institutions including private universities in the near future. Yasss!

So fellow students, here’s the perfect opportunity for you to earn a few extra bucks. Say no more to the broke student life!
