For uni students, there’s nothing that will bring us more joy than receiving financial aid from the government, because most students are broke! Well, that’s about to change, because free money is coming in!

Giphy Downsized Large

Earlier today, the Higher Education Ministry has announced that RM300 million will be used to pay for the 1Malaysia Undergraduates Discount Cards (KADS1M). It was reported that some 1.2 million students from both public and private higher education institutions will benefit from this aid.

In fact, the payment of RM250 would be made through Bank Rakyat starting next Thursday (March 15).

“The amount will be credited into the KADS1M from March 15 and the students involved can check their names with Bank Rakyat.”

“This allocation is in line with the 2018 Budget announced by the prime minister last October to lessen the financial burden of higher education institution students due to the rising cost of living,” Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said.

Check Apply Kads1M

If you’ve received your KADS1M last year, you don’t have to make a new application because the money would be automatically transferred into your existing account. If you haven’t gotten one yet, don’t worry, as application will be open soon.

“The students can obtain the card from any Bank Rakyat branch. It is unlike last year where they could only get it from selected branches,” Datuk Seri Idris added.

Of course, the RM250 is meant to be used for beneficial purposes, such as buying academic materials, computer software and educational equipment. But be honest guys, how many of you would use the money to buy books? 😛

So guys, tag your friends and let them know about this good news! Remember guys, spend the money wisely!
